Menchie is a pianist, teacher, and PhD candidate at the Reid School of Music, University of Edinburgh. She holds a Licentiate of Trinity College London (LTCL) in Piano Recital, a Bachelor’s degree in Music, and a Master’s degree in Education. With over 16 years of teaching experience, she has helped students achieve distinctions in piano performance and music theory, earn performance diplomas, and even go on to study music at university. Alongside individual lessons, she also leads music playgroups, provides aural training, and enjoys performing as an accompanist for instrumentalists and singers.

Above all, Menchie is passionate about creating a joyful and meaningful learning experience. She teaches in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and strives to support each student’s confidence and musical growth at every stage of their journey. Her current doctoral research explores how music can nurture emotional well-being in everyday life, reflecting her belief that music is not only about skill, but also about expression, enjoyment, and connection. Menchie is DBS Enhanced (England) and PVG (Scotland) checked, approved to work with children and protected adults.
